    “How do you vote?” and “Why do you want him/her to win?” are questions we only hear every four years. That is because we only elect a president every four years. Questions like that seem so simple, yet they are so important. Many people take their precious time in deciding. Well, there is a new candidate in the race to think about. His name is Scott Parsons.

      In recent surveys, 49 year old Parsons has been described as trustworthy, experienced, honest, and full of integrity. He and his family of five are willing and excited to take on the responsibilities of living in the White House.

    Parsons was a republican senator of California for six years. During that time, he helped build 12 recycling plants throughout the state.  He graduated from Stanford University. At the end of his college years, he had a bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s degree in public science. In school, he was student council representative and did many public speaking projects. He is very concerned about the health of our earth. “As long as we are killing our earth, we are killing ourselves. It doesn’t take much to keep it clean; we just have to be responsible.” Says Parsons. To help save us from another recession, he claims to help to lower the costs of many categories of items and raise many salaries. With the gas prices rising, work will be done to change the prices of solar –powered cars. With that change made, we will be helping the earth and saving our money. Another major issue Parsons wants to tackle is poverty numbers in our country. “By opening more shelters, we can reduce the amount of homeless people. At those shelters, we could create help to find jobs for them.” He says. Other important issues he hopes to take care of are failing bridges, buildings, sick children or hospital residents, war, and again, the well being of our earth.

    Parsons was born in Julian, California (a small town near San Diego). He lived there till he moved on to college. Coming from a family of six, and being the oldest, he knows that having a big family to take care of (or country in this case) can be crazy. His mother and father were both were working so he often watched the younger twins and their sister. His father was in the military so he is aware of the military issues and how it all works. After leaving for college, at the age of 27 he married Amelia (Mia) Catherine Smith. The family now consists of 3 year old Blake, 6 year old Layland and 10 year old Madison. They are currently living in San Diego.

            Parsons says he will do his best to be elected. He will not criticize other candidates or speak ill of them. He says, “If I win, I don’t want it to be because I put the other candidates down. I want to win because you, the people, think that I can and will run our country correctly. I want to know that you trust me and believe in what I am aiming to do.” He is an extraordinary man that can be our next president. All you have to do is ask, think, and vote.
